‘‘Please pass on our immense thanks to the pilots and staff who looked after us so well during our day. The whole experience surpassed our expectations in every way and was one we will never forget. Truly fantastic and we are all extremely grateful.’’
‘‘I’ve been thinking long and hard to find the words that at best will not do justice in expressing our extreme gratitude for a fantastic day we all had on 13th September.
It was Michelle’s fourth aerobatic flight and my sixth ‘Blades Day’ but this experience stood out amongst all the others. Maybe it was because of the spectacular cloud formations, the usual excellence of the hostesses, the perfect food, the efficiency with which you accommodated Rosie (my sister in-law) at the last moment, or the customary excellence of the display flight, and the unexpected helicopter flights.
Ricardo’s ‘once in a lifetime experience’ left him relatively speechless in the cockpit but in awe of Andy’s skills and the confidence Andy generated in him. His comment to me was, this was the fourth most impressive experience of his life closely following his wedding and the birth of his two children.
Suffice to say The Blades team outdid itself and we are sincerely grateful to you all for the privilege and opportunity to experience this last bastion of EXCELence squared. Thank-you squared for the infectious passion with which you all deliver an unforgettable experience.’’
‘‘…to thank you and the team for an absolutely tremendous day with The Blades, courtesy of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. From the moment we arrived until sadly having to leave, it was a wonderful experience and a memory I will treasure. The programme ran like clockwork and the opening brief set the scene perfectly. From a commercial perspective, I was most impressed at the way 2Excel has diversified and embraced change in order to stay relevant and expand.
The food produced by your chef, Malcolm, was out of the top drawer. In particular, the beef and lime pickle ‘nibbles’ were outstanding (and may well be copied!). Our hostesses on the day, Louise, Kerry, Sarah and Tracey were the icing on the cake. They are obviously carefully selected to be at the top of their game but must have had some specialist training – I don’t expect that fitting parachutes or 5-point harnesses are a regular requirement on long haul flights.
Last but not least, the flying! Patrick deserves a medal for letting us take the controls of the R22 without any training. Either his calm approach and patience bought out the best in me, or he was a very kind marker – either way I was very proud to receive the ‘Blades’ cap and will wear it with pride.
Even to a non-pilot it is clear that the Extra300 is a phenomenal aircraft, and the skill and professionalism of the team is, of course, beyond question. Nevertheless, all my fellow guests confirmed my own thoughts; the way you engaged with us during the flight put us completely at ease and really made the day an unforgettable experience. Thank you again.
